Purple Studio has launched its conquest of the jewellery industry in Vancouver under the supervision of Aysen Kural, one of the two fantastic designers behind those girly yet so chic lines of jewellery.

While dealing with the success of Purple Studio collections around the world, Aysen endorses the role of sales and marketing of Purple Studio Jewelry Company. She showcases her Purple Studio jewellery lines with exclusive Jewelry Parties in Vancouver.

Ladybug @ Gardenia is the theme chosen for Purple Studio colourful summer collection, reflective of the ever sweet personality of the designers. The Ladybug line offers amazing creative pieces such as earings, necklaces and rings that lot of women can relate to and fun to wear in the summer.

Over the past 5 years, the colors and stories belonging to each theme of the collections (Pirates of the Anakara, Royal Cakes or Artic Poppy – to name a few) have been the result of the imagination of Aysen and her partner Zeynep residing in Turkey. Designs have been changing and developing as each piece is hand made, therefore, unique.

They infuse their love of their work into each and every pieces of jewelry they create and lot of attention is given to details during the design process, which mirrors their passion and creativity.

Purple Studio creations are showcased in several countries such as Greece, Italy, Spain, Sweeden, U.A.E, Russia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and France where the company has won the “Best of Designers” (Etoile des Stylistes) award and the “Best of Boutiques” (Etoile des Boutiques) award at the Éclat de mode / Bijorhca fair in Paris.

Aysen still travels a lot, participates to different shows to see what is happening out there and sources out the greatest pieces of jewellery for the Vancouver clientele.

Bridge Magazine – Makeup Column

About ACmakeup

ACmakeup, created by Annie Chang in 2005, provides professional makeup services to clients in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Annie is currently freelancing in Vancouver and her clients include local designers, magazines, photographers, as well as bridal salons and local brides.

As a graduate from Blanche MacDonald with a Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art from the University of British Columbia, Annie’s attention to detail and passion for creativity makes her a highly sought-after makeup artist in Vancouver.

Vancouver and Makeup Concept

Vancouver is well known for its astonishing scenery and its relaxing living style. Annie is inspired by this beautiful city and it is an ideal environment for creativity. As local artists and photographers often exchange ideas and produce collaborative work, it gives Annie perfect opportunities to express her makeup creativity.

Along with creative beauty makeup looks, Annie thinks it is very important to bring out the natural beauty in everybody without looking overdone or “caked”.

“Makeup should not be an artificial means to conceal one’s uniqueness but rather it is to bring out and enhance the natural beauty in every person”.

Annie’s makeup concept is that it doesn’t matter if one is a supermodel or wears glamour makeup, everyone should embrace themselves and be confident in who they are. Everyone can look stunning with just a slight touch of lip gloss or mascara that enhances their beautiful features.

The most important step to any makeup style, from nude to glamour looks, is a great foundation for complexion. Prior to any makeup applications, prep your skin with a good hydration moisturizer to make sure the skin stays hydrated throughout the day. Then apply your primer and foundation for a full coverage. Make sure you have a good concealer that is the same skin tone or one shade lighter than your foundation to cover possible dark circles under the eyes. A good concealer is one that is not too greasy or drying for your skin and it is your all-purpose secret weapon in achieving a flawless complexion.

The Vancouverite Must-Know-How Look

The most popular look in the fashion world is the “Smokey-eye” look; it is a beautiful look that is wearable for everyone. Here are some makeup tips from Annie to avoid the smoky-eye turning into a “panda-eye” look.

Step by Step:

1) Apply foundation, concealer, and loose powder.

2) Use a water-proof eye shadow base and apply all over the upper lids.

3) Put black eye shadow on the upper lids and blend the edges of the shadows until there is not hard edge.

4) Use a black kohl pencil to fill the bottom waterlines of the eyes and pat the lines with black eye shadow.

5) Highlight the inner corner of the eyes with a bright shimmery eye shadow color to complete the look.

6) To add some variety to the smoky-eye look, you can add different eye shadow colors and blend into the edge of the black on the upper lids.

Vancouver has a long history of commitment to healthy lifestyles. 2009 is Vancouver’s 38th Annual Marathon. Vancouver is recognized as one of the ten most scenic Marathons in North America, and attracts runners from 37 countries. Runner’s World Magazine also calls the Marathon in Victoria, on Vancouver Island, one of the top ten destination Marathons in North America.

This year also marks the 25th Annual for the Vancouver Sun Run and it had about 60,000 runners and is one of the largest 10km races in Canada. There were many school teams with children of all ages, and many corporate teams all demonstrating active participation in all aspects.

Vancouver also offers many different races and events that attract top athletes. The Tour de Gastown saw the Legendary Lance Armstrong win the road bike race in 1991, before his seven Tour de France wins from 1999-2005. The Ironman Canada Triathlon in Penticton, B.C. beside the Okanagan Lake saw both local British Columbians Peter Reid and Lori Bowden win the race. These two top triathletes also went on to win the World Ironman Triathlon Championships in Hawaii, with Peter Reid winning three times in 1998, 2000, and 2003, and Lori Bowden winning twice in 1999 and 2003. Another British Columbian, Simon Whitfield of Victoria won Gold at the inaugural Olympic Triathlon in Sydney 2000, with another Silver medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Triathlon.

Hikers enjoy the Grouse Grind in North Vancouver in the summer. This grueling steep climb gains elevation quickly and ends up at the Grouse Mountain Ski and Snowboard Area. In addition to hiking, the mountains in North Vancouver also attract many cross country and downhill bikers. The West Coast Trail along Vancouver Island’s beautiful west coast is world-renowned. This 75km hiking trail in Pacific Rim Park offers some of the most scenic coastline on the globe and protects old-growth rain forest, which attracts artists and photographers from around the world. Other famous hiking locations surrounding Greater Vancouver include The Chief in Squamish, B.C., the Golden Ears in Maple Ridge, B.C., and the Black Tusk in Garibaldi Provincial Park, near Whistler, B.C.

The home of the 2010 Winter Olympics will be in Whistler, B.C., which is a renowned North American ski and snowboarding resort area just about two hours drive away from Vancouver. Skiing is possible all the way into August up in the high glacier areas. It is the diverse topography of Greater Vancouver that allows amazing winter sports in addition to the summer sports all in one season! During the summer, many rollerbladers enjoy the seawall route in the famous Stanley Park next to Downtown Vancouver and nearby False Creek. Vancouver False Creek is the site for the Dragon Boating Competition.

In addition to the variety of outdoor sports in Vancouver, there are also many indoor sports that are popular in demand as demonstrated by the largest collection of indoor badminton courts in Canada at a single location in Richmond, BC.

With rich local history, diverse communities, temperate annual weather, and diverse topography, Vancouver attracts many international athletes to compete in this neighborhood-like city. Overall, Vancouver offers a wide variety of sports for one’s choosing.
